Do you accept custom orders?
Yes! I love working on custom requests or collaborations, big and small. Get in touch with your ideas.
I’ve seen an item I like but I’d prefer it in a different colour or shape, is this possible?
Please use the contact form to get in touch. Personalized pieces can be made to order and will take 4-6 weeks to make.
Use and care
All ceramic is made from high quality stoneware clay to make sure they can withstand everyday use. Some ceramic pieces are unglazed on the outside. Those will be more prone to stain with time and change gradually over the years of use. Be careful with oils on the unglazed surfaces. Matt glazes will likely develop cutlery marks faster or get stains from food such as red cabbage, beetroot, coffee and tea. Try to leave the food no longer on the plate than necessary,
as they may leave stains if they are left on too long.
Ceramics are not indestructible. If you drop them or smash them against other hard objects they will crack or break, so you'll always be careful when handling them.
They are dishwasher safe but handwash is advised. Ceramic glaze might lose his gloss overtime due to aggressive dishwashing soaps. You always want to avoid soaking your tableware for any extended period of time. To ensure the items last longer we advise you to make sure that no item can rub or bump against another during the wash cycle, preventing damage, so don't overload your dishwasher. As a precaution we recommend you to wash oversized items and more delicated pieces by hand. Never put ceramic pieces with metallic finishes, like silver or gold luster, in the dishwasher.
What about microwaves and ovens?
Microwaves and ovens are discouraged. Avoid extreme temperature changes. Do not place your cup from the hot microwave oven on a cold kitchen worktop. The temperature change can cause a thermal shock and result in fragility and cracking and/or breakage. Tip: place the cup immediately in the microwave / oven from the start so it can slowly get used to the temperature.
We offer free shipping on all orders above € 100.- in Belgium.
You can always pick up your order at the studio. Choose the option "pick-up Stokrooie" at the checkout. You'll receive an email as soon as your order is ready to pick up.
When will I receive my order?
Making ceramics is a slow process. The delivery time depends on whether the model is in stock or has to be made. I don't pre-glaze the items. If the item is in stock, it will normally be sent within 5 days. If I still have to make it, depending on other orders, it can vary up to 5 weeks.
